Hi, all.
I'd like to suggest an experiment. One of PEERS former board members (Harold Becker) is the head of The Love Foundation, and one of the leaders behind Global Love Day. Hundreds of cities (444 as of today) around the world have made proclamations for Global Love Day. What if tomorrow, we put aside everything else but expressions of love within the confines of this forum? (Do what you will in the rest of your personal life, but in here, we practice only love and the intent to create a world we will be proud to leave to our children.)
Of course we need to know what lay in our path -- and we need to assess if what we're being told is true or not, and let's have that be a question that sits on the table as we go into this report. However, denial is not a useful response. And fear is not a useful response for us, either (although we know that our fear is very useful to a very few others). Clarity is necessary, and it is in the service of clarity that this article is posted.
I'm posting this to help a friend. The following article explains (in part) why I no longer subscribe to the Law of Attraction (focusing on the positive, denying the negative, etc.).
I read a better (easier-to-understand) article on this subject, but I can't find it at the moment, so in the meantime, here's this one.
For anyone who has tried without success, believing that if you could only think more positively or have more faith in the process that you'll finally manifest your dreams, you can stop beating yourself up. It's not you.
Photographer Evan Schiller and Lisa Holzwarth were on a game drive in the northern Botswana's Selinda area when they came across a big troop of baboons charging through the bush.
"30-40 baboons were heading in our general direction making a lot of noise," Lisa recalls.
I'm postingthe photos. But if they don't show up for you, this is the site they are from:

Here's the specifics:
Earth Day is coming up next Tuesday. This year, Mother Earth has at least one thing to celebrate—the beginning of the end of Monsanto’s evil empire.
I hope we can keep this thread going with other inspirational stories of volunteerism working. So many people think government is necessary. There is a better way, as intimated in the film Thrive. When we truly grow up as a society, I think we will begin to see more and more stories about people working to make their communities a better place without the formal structures that we call government.
