Why worry?

Anxiety and worry seem to be ongoing challenges for most of us to varying degrees in our daily lives so I just thought I'd post some stuff that helps me when I'm coming unstuck ...

Living in the Future's Past

I just watched a great, great movie about the climate change pickle we're in by Jeff Bridges called Living in the Future's Past.  I think I saw it as a paid movie on YouTube Premium.
This non-blaming movie was very helpful to me to sort some stuff out.
For the first time since I was a teen I could see the modern world as a fragile and temporary energy system. He spells it out-it's a world built on "fossilized Sunlight". Everything (this email) is built on this cheap energy.
It was a gentle movie-I needed that.

This World

I am so sick of what is going on in this world right now and not being able to help.  I consider myself an eternal optimist, but this is getting ridiculous.  I used to think it was a small percentage of people that were harming this Earth.

I'm starting to believe that there are more people out there with bad intentions than I imagined.  Maybe this is part of the awakening process?  Maybe this all needs to happen in order for us to realize how screwed up we all are?

Broken world?

Finding the Gift

Over the last few months I’ve been having additional health challenges with vertigo – a new thing for me – not just fleeting light-headedness, but full blown can’t-walk dizziness with nausea and vomiting, lasting for hours.  Now I do realise that this isn’t the worse sort of challenge we can have, but it certainly isn’t pleasant and not something I would consciously welcome.  Until last week the timing of these episodes has been noticeably kind to me, not falling during my working days and I’ve thought how difficult it would be if I had a severe bout at work – which is exactly what happened

Random Acts of Kindness

I love the concepts of Random Acts of Kindness and Paying it Forward (I did have to explain to someone how this worked, saying he didn't need to pay me back, but instead consider paying it forward!)  It amazes me just how easily we can all bring a moment of joy or magic into somebody else's life with just a little bit of thought.  How cool it would be if we could have National Day of Kindness, and then why not just continue with it?  With loving thoughts for a kinder world :-)

A Propos of nothing in particular ...

Hey Fred

I was just having a general look around the forums and can see there's a lot of history and stories in there.  I was amazed that there were hundreds of comments on the most commented post, going back 10 years or so - obviously a lot more activity at that time.

I was interested that there seemed to be a lot of posts 'removed at author's request' - what's that all about?

Nice to see that active members have recently expanded to the 4 of us ;-)
