Beautiful yes, but is part of its beauty in its rarity?  Or are altruistic acts like this performed by hundreds of thousands of common people each day?

I'd like to think it's the latter because these are the very things I do in daily life.  This doesn't make me or anyone else a hero or a saint.  And it's not for the emotional perk that I live by the Golden Rule, but because it's the right thing to do.  Not because someone told me to do it, but because it's embedded within the fabric of my being.

Let me explain... when I was three or four years old, this is how I thought the world was run.  Everyone cooperated for the good of all by doing a job they loved to do.  Not for money, but for love.  It seemed as natural to me as breathing air.  And you know what?  It still does.

Now admittedly, my daily cash donations are very small.  That little girl would've grown up without an education with me as her benefactor... but if everyone pitched in a pittance, soon there'd be no poverty, hunger, inequality, war, etc. in the world.

All we have to do is care more.

What I appreciate about this video is how the man is aware of his environment and takes every opportunity to act from his heart, regardless of whether he will recieve reciprocation from his benefactors or support from his peers. It's encouraging to see the man's persistence in continuing to do this, and it's heartwarming to see the fruits of his efforts. To me, it's these small gestures, done genuinely and consistently, that define heroism.

I think it's wonderful that it has always been a part of you to feel and be this way, Noa. Examples like this commercial, and seeing these gestures in real life, are very inspiring because they serve as a reminder and a permission for those of us who have forgotten that we are here to live from the heart, every moment.

Love and light,

Trish
