Exciting Times!!!!

I like to always remind myself, we came here, at this time, for this time...

It's great to see people collectively awakening and taking back their power.

Today, I thought about Gaza, with sadness.  The word "occupy" means something totally different to the Palestinians.  I pray the protest efforts across the world will ultimately liberate everyone.

My fears of the OWS movement being co-opted have been allayed.

Clif High recently said that even if it was true that OWS was funded by corporate interests, it doesn't matter.  The movement is taking on a life of its own.

On the surface, the OWS movement seems to be loosely organized and vague about its demands.  But if you go the NYC General Assembly website http://www.nycga.net/groups/, you'll see 59 working groups listed.  Another page outlines the Principles of Solidarity http://www.nycga.net/resources/principles-of-solidarity/.  They're doing a lot of work behind the scenes.

Many of the other Occupy groups post instructions on maintaining peaceful demonstrations.  Their commitment to nonviolence and their ability to stay peaceful when they are being provoked by the police, I think, is the movement's biggest strength.
