A little help

Hi all,

I've been having trouble getting to the website caravantomidnight.com for the last three days.  I read recently that the UK was going to begin censoring esoteric sites so I was wondering if there was some connection there, though my computer has been acting a little strange lately.  Could someone out there please go to that website and let me know if it's still there, or if the problem is just on my end?  Thanks.

Strange, it always just takes me to "Server not found" and "Problem loading page."  My wife even had trouble loading it on her phone, said something about there being a loop to this page and finally after a few times it connected.  So I guess it's still there, I just can't get to it.  Very strange indeed . . .

Hi Francis,

I don't know how tech-savvy you are, but my first suggestion would be for you to try clearing your browser cache. What web browser are you using? When your wife was connecting with her phone, was she connected to your house's wi-fi at the time or over mobile data?

Every browser is different, but in Chrome, you would go to Settings -> History -> Clear browsing data... -> select Cookies and Cached images or files, and click Clear browsing data. You could google for how to do it with your browser.

It's also possible that unplugging and plugging in your router could fix it, or it's possible that it's a problem with your internet service provider's name servers (which you wouldn't be able to fix).

I hope this helps!

Not sure why this second post was created - that's happened to me before too.

yeah, I clear and restart my computer pretty often these days.  We're hard wired since we're trying to avoid the dirty emf's as much as possible these days, we even have a phone with a cord, don't see too many of those anymore, maybe we'll go back to sending telegrams soon, lol.  I'll give that router suggestion a try, wish me luck . . .

guess I'll have to contact my dsl provider and see what they say . . .

Hi Francis,

I just tried going to the website, and I received DNS-related errors - could be a conspiracy after all!

Not at all tech savvy here, typed Caravan to Midnight in search pane and it immediately opened up-so unsure what is causing the probs, just reporting in on it from my end!

yeah, some can and some can't, a bit fishy . . .

Now how's this, I just tried and it let me on and is working normally, what the bleep?

Thanks again for your feedback.

Hi Francis,

If you are getting the "Server not found" error and also in Trish's case, it looks like a DNS issue. If you originally had no problem and now you do, it looks like the DNS entry for that site was removed. If that is the case it COULD be a censorship/conspiracy issue as Trish suggests.

There probably is a temporary fix for this, but the long term fix should be contacting your ISP and requesting that the site be made available.

You can do a temporary bandaid fix for this by overriding the DNS system in a file you have on your computer called a “hosts” file. In this file you will need to associate the ip address 208.109.248.185 with caravantomidnight.com. The procedure to do this can be found by googling “add to hosts file” along with your kind of system (Windows, Linux, Mac). For example for a Windows system one such article can be found on eHow: (click on this link)

How to Add a Line to Windows Host Files

In this article you will want to change the info added at step 5 to

208.109.248.185 caravantomidnight.com

Hope this helps.

Thanks for bringing this website up. I was able to access it myself. I am a fan of John B. Wells from his Coast to Coast AM guest-host days. After he left there I had lost track of him. He is sort of a conspiracy theory attack dog. I am looking forward to visit this website regularly. Thanks for turning me on to his site.

I used to get the "server not found" message in china,,,it will add,,,,please try your search again...And there is usually a little "skip" in the screen,,,I have to use a vpn all the time here. and it has recently got worse with google, even the email is blocked. I used to be able to get hong kong google, but no more. China had to be pretty upset last year when google linked with qq and wechat, the two chinese versions of facebook. They are both owned by tencent technology, and have hundreds of millions of users. Their chat and voice call and video call is free, and it usually works better than skype or google,as it will run on a weaker signal..Plus they have translators in the chat box. I use both to call america,, but don't gonear the "qzone" as I don't go on facebook either. Sorry to go off subject.....

I think that error is the most common  form of censorship of sites,,,I get it on my phone now too,,trying to get to startpage,,,or google,,,have touse the vpn to get  through

Funny, it's working nowadays just fine, which is great because I'm paying for access to the site, lol.  Yes, same thing for me Mark, I was a big fan and actually lost interest in Coast to Coast after he left.  If you join his site, it's like $30 for 6 months you can access all his past shows, they've been great and he always has great guests and is a knowledgeable interviewer.  Noory always seemed to move on to the next subject right at that moment when that's the last thing he should've done, used to really piss me off - John never does that.  And thanks for the tips, will use that in the future if it happens again.  Love all the helpful souls at the G-spot!

I just had an idea, it's possible that they forgot to auto-renew their domain name registration or they switched DNS providers, so for a couple of days it had some sporadic name resolution issues while the name got propagated throughout the web.

Anyways, glad you can see the site now, I can too!

Cheers, Trish

Question about Caravan to Midnight

Has anyone paid for the 1 show download option?

I wanted to just hear the Jay Weidner interview and was considering just paying the .99 for 1 download but they don't have any specifics about how that works. I was wondering if you have a day or so to watch it or what?
