HI ! FROM A NEWBIE

HI !

I punched the button yesterday to join this team and I am really excited to find a group of people who are dedicated to staying centered in this time of our world's evolutionary process while projecting love, understanding, and healing intention. I found TT just when I was about to run screaming out the front door and jump head first into the snow bank (yes, Iowa still has snow and piles of it) &/or I was going to be done in by friends and family who are somewhat tired of me complaining about the state of governmental affairs. So, thank you for being here and making a positive difference in the world. I am trying to put together a spirit circle here in Webster City, town of 8500. Had one a few months ago but it fell apart when I tried to talk about quantum healing and mother/father God. Not much luck finding anyone yet who is interested. You are so blessed if you live in an area that has like minded support.

Sorry about there not being a photo yet. I thought there was one in my mac but I haven't been able to find it yet. Honestly I am not well trained in certain areas of computer land, images being one of them. I won't give up.

I am not even sure if this is supposed to be a blog or a forum topic or announcement and haven't read the help section yet but will do that right away.

Hope this isn't too early to share an article that I wrote a few months ago. I send it to a lot of the websites I come across. If you would like to share it, please feel free.

Thank you for reading my profile.

I am looking forward to meeting you and working with you in positive, healing, fun endeavours.

Below is an idea that came to me while watching "What the Bleep Do We Know"...

FIVE MINUTE PEACE PLAN

It's easy to be caught up in today's world problems. We are constantly reminded of terrorism, abuse, and greed. And, we don't have to look far to see their results.
Have you ever felt powerless over what's happening around you? It's easy to feel like that. What can one person do when so many others are acting crazy and insane? How can one person possibly do anything that could affect a change anywhere? It's hopeless for one person to do anything that might make a difference. Or, is it?
In the summer of 1993, a group of individuals was brought to Washington, D.C. to see if they could lower the city's crime rate. They were not given guns or weapons of any kind. They were not sent out on the streets to face the insanity. They did not get on the telephone or television and yet what they did do was so affective that it measurably reduced Washington, D.C.'s crime rate by 25%.
The D.C. police chief had stated before the group began their effort that it would take two feet of snow in July to lower the crime rate 25%.
Since the group did not produce two feet of snow, just how did they do what was thought so impossible? They prayed and meditated.
This group of individuals knew what they were about to do in D.C. would lower the crime rate. In fact, success was predicted at 25% based on results from 48 previous smaller events in other locations.
Is it possible that prayer and meditation can be measurable? Yes, it is and has been.
It was this story that prompted a small group to take action, put away the "There's nothing that I could possibly do," thoughts, and do something. This small group of individuals has committed to praying or meditating five minutes a day for peace. It could be personal peace, local peace, national peace, world peace. It takes just five minutes a day, any time of the day or night. There are 288 five minute opportunities during a twenty four hour period. That's not asking much on behalf of the world and humanity.
A person does not have to be of a particular belief to spend five minutes a day thinking about peace. And, a person does not have to believe that this will work, just believe that someone else believes it.
Finding five minutes per day or remembering to do it might be the hard part but what to do in that five minutes is easy. There could be as many ways as there are individuals doing it. Repeating a phrase such as "Peace on earth" or "Peace is in, around, and through this planet and its people" or "Peace is flowing everywhere" or "Today I smile at myself and everybody else" or whatever feels right. Some individuals visualize peace and others experience a feeling of peace in some way. All of those work.
It's easy and it works and it doesn't cost anything except five minutes from your day. One person can do it. That one person can tell another person and that person can tell another person. It's easy to see how quickly this "Five Minute Peace Plan" can blanket our planet. Our planet needs a "Global Peace Blanket". Every stitch counts. Every five minutes count. Every person counts. Every individual making an effort for peace will reap the benefits of feeling a peace that begins from within. It's easy.

P.S. Please pass this on. Thank you.

Hi Kate!
Welcome to the Portal and many thanks for holding the light in Webster City!

Hi Kate,

Love the story about Washington. I have read it before and it fascinated me then!

There are quite a number of us who are sort of isolated and doing our own thing, but as Bodhi says, we are holding the light and I think that is one of the most important things we can do. Darkeness is always defeated by the light, so let us shine!!!
If you have any hassles with pictures, just email it to Andrey. He is our absolute computer wizard and has set up this stunning site, so he will insert it for you if you have a problem. I also felt very hesitant in the beginning.

Enjoy our wonderful diversity of people.

Hi Kate,

I too, like you and like so many lately, was driving myself mad with all the dark events I was becoming aware of so quickly the last few years, and then a friend sent me the link to wanttoknow and I had my path towards some relief and balance. Down the Rabbit Hole by What the Bleep?! was also a big eye-opening inspiration for me too. I also went ahead and picked up a copy of "Messages from Water" featured in What the Bleep and that, along with a very interesting lecture by Dr. Ed Mitchell on the holographic properties of quantum physics and the coherent nature of energy at the planck scale zero point field, I finally had something that makes me more hopeful about the way things really are than I have ever had in my life! Science and Religion, the odd couple that must now grapple with some very interesting data about all that space out there we once thought to be empty. Great introductory post, by the way!

Welcome aboard!

Kate, welcome!  That was a great intro!  BTW I was born in Iowa City.  Haven't been up that way since my grandma died in '84, but it's still a pretty cool place.  I do love those rolling hills and Grant Wood trees.  My grandma lived in an old house overlooking the Iowa River.  Her place had originally been a soddie - the only house for many miles.  Bit by bit, the sod walls got replaced with brick - two feet thick just like the original walls.  There was a wooden addition in back, but the house was small.  The smell of the ancient cellar was mysterious and a little fearsome to a small boy.

What's Webster City like?  Seems l like I should know, but it's been a long, long time...

Welcome aboard,

I thank you for joing the team and loved your 5 min a day set aside for love and peace.  There are other movements everywhere doing this and it works.  I look forward to your contributions and thoughts as you become familiar with all that is happening.  One thought of mine is we do it collectivly together at the same time each day to breath sacred love and work Ho,oponopono on the world, our congressmen and people of influence to change things to make a better world for all.  Collectively it will have a more dramatic effect.  Love to you, Mark

Be it so...

Appreciate your comments. I have participated in the Harmonic Convergence which was one of the first coordinated meditation/prayer events many years ago. And, there have been several annual, monthly or whatever come together at such and such a time for greater impact. Sometimes I actually remember to write it in my schedule book and sometimes I actually remember to look at it and sometimes I actually am available to do it. So, when this idea came to me I visualized thousands of people actually praying 5 minutes a day whenever they could do it and if they missed a regular time there were dozens of other 5 minute time segments that others would be doing the same thing. The world would be in someone's prayers at all times 24/7. Perhaps this was grandiose but the grandiose intention was peace and harmony and love and flexibility and convenience. If I contact enough people and enough people realize that they can make a difference right where they are at any time, one day at a time, every day.

I try to send the 5 minute peace plan to several web sites a day, be they peaceful, warful, business, personal, whatever.  You may, too, if you like..

One of the things that I do during my time is to visualize a blanket woven with quantum "worms" covering the planet and as I repeat Ho'oponopono, the words travel through the worms until the whole blanket/planet is filled.

I am very grateful to be a part of this team and already feel part of the family. Thanks again.

We still have a couple of inches of snow on the ground, how about MN?

Sat. a m - went ice fishing today, the ice on the lake is still 2 feet thick but lots of melted snow on the ice. - wet and sloppy.   temp around 35 deg F.  Caught 9 fish, thank you Lord.  Just finished fileting them.  Will feast tomorrow. LOL.  My yard is showing 90% grass , it will be gone in 0ne more day.  Thanks and Love, Mark

Hi Kate,

Read your Five Minute Peace Plan (and am impressed) and a couple of days later a copy of it arrived in my emails from a local woman (Central Coast NSW Australia) who does networking for all spiritual happenings in our area; so good news DOES travel fast.

love and joy

Hi Kate!

Just a quick note of encouragement to say, do as your heart leads for we are definitely being led. Nothing grandiose going on there. Love your presence.

In Love, Light and Confident Hope,
Chris
