Children Full of Life

I'd like to think that if all of us as children were taught how to empathize, the Golden Rule would be the law of the land and our prisons would be empty.  ~ Noa

Children Full of LifeMr. Kanamori, a teacher of a 4th grade class, teaches his students not only how to be students, but how to live. He gives them lessons on teamwork, community, the importance of openness, how to cope, and the harm caused by bullying.

In the award-winning documentary Children Full of Life, a fourth-grade class in a primary school in Kanazawa, northwest of Tokyo, learn lessons about compassion from their homeroom teacher, Toshiro Kanamori.

He instructs each to write their true inner feelings in a letter, and read it aloud in front of the class. By sharing their lives, the children begin to realize the importance of caring for their classmates.

Toshiro is an amazing example of what all teachers across the world should be like. He truly understands what teaching children is all about and certainly made a positive difference in the lives of these 10 year olds.

I haven't listened to the video yet but I heard something interesting about bullying lately on Kevin Barret's radio show. They were saying that it's interesting the emphasis on child bullying in a world where there is so much adult bullying going on - wars, the unfair way the system and corporations treat everyone, the subtle bullying that hapens in advertising by putting down the "have nots" and those that are different. Their take on bullying was a bit different - that it can be something that can strengthen kids for what they will be facing as adults if as children they find the courage to face it themselves rather than appealing to authority, which seems to be the emphasis these days.

One thing that is overlooked is society is wrong, nobody ever wants to dicuss that though! When we realize that we will be alright as humans . The being is a whole different picture .

The human is the physical side and the being is the spiritual side and the spiritual  is a whole different ball game. Most are stuck in low vibration fear and ego mode but people are changing everyday I am witnessing it . In fact it is quite amazing how we are progressing in  a positive way as a whole if only we could change paradigms. Hope this helped .

E loves u all !!!!!!!!!!!

This video is like an exquisite work of art!  The children were put in close touch with their true essence as human beings thus bringing out their beauty both individually and collectively.  This is the most important education - all the rest is window dressing.

Beautiful and inspiring. Sensei is the best teacher I have ever seen or heard of though I had a couple of kind people help me along the way too. I wondered if he waited years to establish himself as competent before embarking on what might be controversial methods. He is featured exactly because he is so different than most so I wonder: Is he bucking authority, his peers etc. to bring himself fully present and alive? What a gift his courage has been for eveybody who's seen this. I am sad that here, hugging or touching students would have landed him in prison.

I just finally had the time to watch this video, and it effected me deeply.  I lost my Gran at 7. She cared for me during the week while my mother worked, so I was very close to her.  No one really explained where she was, she was just 'gone' and I didn't realize until adulthood how much that loss really changed me. It created in me a fear of abandonment that has taken a lifetime to work thru. The lessons this teacher is giving those children will carry over into many areas of their life.  What a blessing.
