Mr. Kanamori, a teacher of a 4th grade class, teaches his students not only how to be students, but how to live. He gives them lessons on teamwork, community, the importance of openness, how to cope, and the harm caused by bullying.

In a world where too many people seemingly lack (what I call) the "empathy gene" this video inspires me to hope that we are naturally wired for empathy.  The world witnessed a massive outpouring of empathy after 9/11 as people from across the globe shared America's anguish. 

this one got to me... it's about the transformational power of empathy.  b
