Oneness Blessing?

Greetings of love and light to all,

Last night I attended a Oneness Blessing Deeksha.  A dear friend of mine was hosting it at her home and had been asking me to come for weeks now, so I agreed to attend and participate.

I had previously googled Oneness Blessings Movement and had a certain amount of hesitation about being involved with it but I decided that there was no harm in observing with an open, nonjudgmental attitude and a certain amount of scepticism and spiritual preparedness.

What this amounts to is a trained facilitator manually focusing spiritual energy into the crown chakra of the recipients during a period of meditation.  Here is a quote from the Oneness Blessing website describing what is happening.

"The Oneness Blessing results in growth in consciousness. It is the phenomenon behind the work of oneness. It is an act of energy transfer by touch or by the power of intent.

The Oneness Blessing is a non-denominational experience that transfers physical energy, awakening our connection with the oneness in everything, allowing each of us to deepen our relationship with those we love, with ourselves, with strangers and with our creator.

The Oneness Blessing initiates a neuro-biological change in the brain. There are 16 centres in the brain responsible for definitive experiences like sensory perception, emotions of jealousy, hatred, fear, compassion, love, joy, separation, connectedness, creativity, learning, etc. Oneness Blessing results in the activation of certain centres and the de-activation of certain other centres thus bringing about a shift in the perception and experience of life.

The Oneness Blessing is also found to help in the healing of the body and in the discharge of repetitive emotional patterns, resulting in greater ease and comfort with oneself.

In relationships it enables a greater sensitivity and connectedness with the other, freeing you from the limitations of your judgments and conditionings.

Success and prosperity begins with consciousness – a capacity to expand your horizon of thinking and an understanding of the universe around you, the principles governing you."

All that is fine and commendable. What made me particularly hesitant is the following quote from the same website:

"Source of the Oneness Blessing

Oneness Blessing originates in the consciousness of Sri Amma Bhagavan. Wherever Oneness Blessing is given in the world it sources itself in the being of Sri Amma and Sri Bhagavan."

These individuals are considered to be Avatars, acutally one spiritual being manifested in two physical bodies. This is where my hackles raise with this movement.  If they claimed that they were the channel of energy from Source, the Creator, and didn't make themselves the "source" of this healing energy I would have no difficulties with the movement.  The facilitators are doing a process much like Reiki or other energy healing modes, which I believe is working inspite of the claims of the founders. By saying that they are the source they are creating a dualism/separation in the face of the "Oneness" which they are seeming to be promoting.

If anyone has experience with this movement and other insight it would be interesting to hear alternative opinions.

In the love and light of our Creator,

Berry

If you did participate, I for One, would love to hear your direct experience.  This is new to me.

  Thanks,

  Tricia

I was "touched" before I even got to the body of the explanation, so my resonation with whatever this is intrigues me and leads me to feel/believe there is something to gain from this discipline. The sense of serenity I got was all but off the charts. I, like you Berry, am not too hip to the seemingly nonsensical adherence to a "mediator" like priests in catholicism, but I strongly sense there is something very valuable in the practice/exercise of the discipline of "laying on of hands" so to speak, of loving and caring energy transfer through the only real medium required - free will unleashing the power of intention. There will be those who are further along who can help us on our way, but to wrap a religion around any one individual or individuals is counter productive as history reveals over and over again, so this brings me back to the same old, but true, cliche', don't throw the baby out with the bathwater (always loved that dark humor mental image).

The common universal truths found in these quotes speak for themselves and hardly require the duality of men or women playing God which tends to lead people toward the irresponsible behavior of following and away from the responsible behavior of self-activation and realization of the "God" they are a unique expression of....

Unassailable Love, Serenity and the Peace that transcends understanding, Chris

P.S.  I have a tendency to LOVE challenging people when it comes to bogus religious dogma, so take this idea with a grain of salt, but you might go again and query the group concerning the possibility that they are worshipping the creature instead of the Creator (or something along those lines) and see if you get that typical religious defensive response, or you might ask if they feel they would be offending "God" by disregarding "the being of Sri Amma and Sri Bhagavan" and simply trusting in the Self same Being that resides within each of them, the Being that requires no name or sacrifice, other than the universal sacrifice of surrendering to what already is....

"Oneness Blessing originates in the consciousness of Sri Amma
Bhagavan. Wherever Oneness Blessing is given in the world it sources
itself in the being of Sri Amma and Sri Bhagavan."
I would kindly and sincerely challenge the claim in that quote and see if they are moved from there place of serenity to defend, and then gently remind that "what is real cannot be threatened" and "what is unreal does not exist" "herein lies the peace and serenity that is the unassailable "checkmate" of ALL that IS.  Just make sure you don't lose your peace and serenity in the process.

Or one could just "let it be" since everyone has the inviolate universal right to do it there way as far as the road toward the journey home is concerned.....

Dear Berry,

I am with you in your concern. I attened one of these......all sounded good....till this fellow talks about this enlightened being playing with him in his mind. the person going around was on crutches. i would have left but was hemmed in ....i just surrounded myself with love..in/out to deflect/protect. had a feeling of unsavory usage of peoples energy by this being.I am not a follower! It was not right for me.....and I had STRONG feeling against this. I hope this helps. Love,Mary

Ps  I am here with a sick friend so kept this short..... Please note that I mentioned the person giving this blessing was on crutches! I felt this was offering more crutches to recipient, and devotees to this/these beings. You may not have asked for this response,as it is similar to your feelings there. I did recieve it but protected myself with LOVE

Hey there everyone. I love your responses to this experience.

First of all, I felt that the facilitator, Mary, was surrounded with love and positive energy. I immediately resonated with her and we seemed to find sympathetic feedback from each other from the first. The group of 12 people who were there some friends and some people I didn't know, radiated a loving atmostphere and were indeed bonded together in oneness during the evening. Mary had another person assisting her in doing the process as each of us received the hands on four times during the evening.  This young lady was also a very loving and positive spirit.

My personal reaction to it was very positive as well. ON the first application, I felt myself resisting at first and then relaxed into the Sacred Now and received whatever Source had for me which was a serene and peaceful state. I can't say that I experienced anything extraordinary during the evening except for the fact that I began on the second of the applications to perceive that there was a transparency to the women who were offering the Blessing. I could sense the light of a candle which was burning on a table in front of me, passing through them and visible to myself, even though I had my eyes closed!

As I said, the exeperience was for the most part very enjoyable, as long as I was not thinking about the idea that this whole thing supposedly proceeded from Sri Bagavan/Amma.  The fact is that I know/knew that all Love/light,Light/love is of the Creator and we are all equally able to receive or give it.

Blessings of love and light to each of you in the Oneness of our One Infinite Creator.

Both Lynn Marie and I have been to India for the 3-week deeksha course (now oneness blessing) and we've also attended a 10-day deepening course. They were powerful experiences for both of us and, in my opinion, they significantly accelerated my awakening process. As a direct result I became more fully embodied as my self in a way that is natural, and powerful.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the courses is that they were taught by Dasas--young, male and female disciples of Amma/Bhagavan--who were soo clear, present, balanced and harmonious; there were no discernable political energies happening within their spiritual community. this is contrary to nearly every other spiritual sangha I have been associated with.

Although life has moved me away from doing regular, organized deekshas, I hosted a group for about a year and a half and I regularly witnessed very remarkable shifts in people's consciousness as well as occasional "miraculous" healings.

As far as Amma/Bhagavan's claim of being avatars or a "step-down" transformer of Source energy is concerned--I didn't care; I found and still find the energy to be helpful and facilitative of moving people into a more comfortable and/or awake place and that is useful to me. Also, I know that we all come from the same source; I don't really care what anyone claims--I am interested in the results.

For what it's worth, this is my experience with the oneness blessing,

Love & blessings to you all,

John

Thank you John,

The more I think about this experience, the more I can see that Creative Intellegence, Source, is using this phenomonon to raise the Global Awareness.  It matters not what Sri Amma-Bagavan claim, as long as the loving energy of light continues to flow out from those Dasas who are performing acts of love and service to others. I have had a full day and more to let this experience settle and I do feel that there was raising of my consciousness resulting from the deeksha.

Love and Light,

Berry
