People have been warning us that economic collapse is imminent for some time, but when the word comes from an IMF advisor, we'd best listen.  If this is true, there's very little time to prepare.  At the very least, everyone should stock up on food and water.  If you have some extra money, buy silver coins.  The price is down to just above $30 per ounce.  (It was at $40 two months ago.)  Buy gold if you can afford it.  After the $h!t hits the fan, the price should soar.  ~ Noa

I often sign petitions put out by the international AVAAZ team, who carefully choose an appropriate, critical time to campaign against injustice in the world.  They've just put up one to back the Wall St protest.

In this one they're going to put the current number of signatories on a giant live counter there.  Here's their plea:

Dear friends,

Over 400 Occupy Wall Street protesters were arrested while crossing the Brooklyn Bridge today.  The protesters say that the police coralled them onto the bridge, while the police and mainstream media report that the protesters were deliberately obstructing traffic.  

Someone from  OWS said on camera that he saw a few protesters walking in the road, rather than taking the pedestrian walkway, which bottle-necked at the entrance.  I can imagine how easy it would be for hundreds of people to accidently follow behind the few who took to the street instead of taking the walkway.
