Buddhist Monks Break Dancing (well)

It’s been over two years since the legendary MCA (Adam Yauch) of the Beastie Boys died. For those of us who grew up on Paul’s Boutique and Licensed to Ill, it’s a loss we’ll never recover from.

To honor Yauch, a group of Buddhist monks went down to Union Square. Yauch was an outspoken Buddhist and supporter of the Tibetan struggle for independence. What these monks did next was something no one could have expected.

Forget silent support or meditation. These Buddhists came to boogie, and they’re feeling themselves. No humility, no patience, no nirvana, just unabashed love and joy.

MCA, we love you forever.
