Hi all!
I am currently in Vietnam, but am planning to take a trip to India soon to find a monastery to study at for a while. I was wondering if anyone knows anywhere to start. I don't have much of a plan at the moment. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I am planning to fly into India and start checking out monasteries. I want to find one that fits me. I don't know much about the geography of India or anything, but I am considering starting in Bodh Gaia and going from there. I will be taking some time off of work and committing several months to this expedition.
Hopefully I can find a place where I feel comfortable and I can explore what needs to be explored. That's the plan at the moment, but I am completely open to suggestions and ideas. Thanks,

Hey Nick,
I spent 10 weeks in India and five weeks in Nepal back in 1994. In Nepal (which I highly recommend), I loved Kopan, which is less than an hour outside of Kathmandu. In India, I didn't find any great monastaries, though I spent some excellent time at Mother Theresa's place in Calcutta, and I've heard RIshikesh is great for spiritual journeys.
