What is that noise?

Can anyone tell me what this noise is? It's not tinnitus. It seems to always be there, although I don't always hear or notice it. Kind of like locusts or crickets but definitely electrical. The sound never varies in frequency or intensity as far as I can tell. What I mean is, it's constant, it always sounds the same. What isn't constant is my awareness of it. I think I've always heard it but, not, heard it, and it's only in recent (several) years I've become consciously aware of it for any period of time. It sounds like it's coming from inside my head but not necessarily the ears. Hmmm ...

Can anyone hear me barkin'? ... hound dogs? ... anyone?

I'm not sure what it is, but I hear it if I want to. Maybe the background resonant frequency of the planet? Or underlying reality... Perhaps the constant unifying field that ties us corporeally here between the in/out phase of existence/non-existence. Like the space between molecules and everything, we only truly "exist" for something like 2/3-3/4 of a second and blip! Don't...

Reading the Seth material and certain physics/philosophy books, that's the space/instant/moment where we can connect with other realities and parallel selves/universes. The soundless sound of one hand clapping. Unless it drives you mad...  Hum, ha ha ha, ha ha! ;)

Thanks monkey man. Great perspective and I have a feeling, close to the mark.

I read the following somewhere and have not heard of it before now. The explanation is interestingly resonate, however I wonder why know one talks a lot about this.

When the body is totally relaxed and the brain is charged with high energy, one can under ideal conditions, perceive a sound inside the head. It is a moderate level sound like a hissing sound (in the 7 to 9 kHz range), comparable to the chirping sound of a cricket or the sound of an electric motor running at high speed or just like pink noise. In the beginning this ancient sound is very faint, barely noticeable. Unconsciously we remember this sound from the womb, where it was a constant companion while we waited several months to be borne. It reminds us of deep comfort and rest. It was there from the very beginning. All anxieties, all worries and problems came later. Because of that hearing the sound can lead us back to this first experience of a pure untouched  condition. Hearing the sound can bring us back to this pure untouched condition. The sound can cause an inner regression leading us back to inner security and openness. Some people fear, when they suddenly hear this sound for the first time, that they suffer from tinnitus, a very unpleasant condition. The perception of the sound is usually in the middle of the head at the plane of the ears, but sometimes moved to left or right side. If you never consciously perceived your inner sound, you just simply have to search for it. The sound is always there, but gets masked out because of  the noise of our daily routine, the anxieties and worries. The best time to hear this sound is just after waking up, or shortly after going to bed, if you are relaxed and listen into the sound. It is most important to relax shoulders, neck, forehead and jaws. Take your time in your search for this inner sound. Once you have heard this sound, it is very easy to reactivate it, in any life situation. It was found, that if you are under stress, just imagine this inner sound, and your worries will disappear immediately. We also found that the perception of the inner sound will calm you, when you feel anxious, too excited or even aggressive. One can conclude, that the inner sound is in unison with tranquility and a happy, open mood. If you do not have enough experience with the inner sound, you can lose it as a result of your daily struggles. Pressures, worries, negative attitudes or moods can make the sound disappear. Whereas the original sound will always be with you if you are tranquil, relaxed, happy and full of energy.

Sometimes I can hear florescent lights. I seem to notice this most in the office at work but I swear I've never noticed it when I was in a natural setting outdoors. I even think I notice a background noise at home sometimes, even though we don't have florescent lights. Maybe it's an electrical signal?

When I was in my teens I could hear very high pitched sounds from escalators and other machines no one else seemed to. I can't hear them anymore. Now, if I pause for a moment I always hear high pitched sounds in my head which I'm told means the individual hairs that pickup frequencies are dying off one by one. Ugh.

I don't remember ever hearing it before I lived in Taos,,But I have heard it many times,,,and regularly for many years in Taos. I likened it to a buzzing sort of sound, with surges at times...And at times it was much louder than others. I didn't hear it when I had an nde back in my twenties, but it was very strong during a 2 day ceremony I did where I was sure I was experiencing the crossover,,,or dying,,ha! It got so loud as I closed in on my "death",,,it reminded me of the sound people used to describe  their experiences on peyote. Of course,,there are videos and pieces of documentaries on the "Taos Hum", but others who claimed to hear that described it differently in every case I heard. And I liken the Taos Hum to all the vast underground facilities that stretch from Los Alamos up into Colorado. I figured that if they exist, their power sources probably explain the Taos Hum.

An old girlfriend of mine made me watch "The Langoliers" with her when it came out many years back. The buzz I hear is somewhat similar to the sound that was devouring the world in that story,,,I think that was from a Stephen King novel......

Funny, but both times I fired up your post, Gary, I decided to look it up while my tv was on in the background. I paused whatever was playing at the time, so I could focus on the post and respond. Both times I felt this calmness descend upon me and a "dropping down" of my anxiety level (having been elevated from watching tv, even if it wasn't necessarily stressful). So, I appreciate your follow up because it does RESONATE with/within me. Even though those other things/noises/sounds the others mentioned exist, that is not to what we are referring... ;)

Just wanted to be EXTRA clear that it wasn't my tv. When we were staying out at the homestead miles from anywhere and no phone or power lines (the quietest place I've ever lived), I could still pick up that sound, if I chose. There would be days with no wind or planes or anything. Simply amazing. Elk surrounding the place. I miss it. But not the having to keep a fire going most of the time in this season

Trish's picture

It may be partially amplified by electricity, but I'm sure I've heard it outside in the bush miles away from power lines. Standing under larger hydro poles and lines, I can hear an intense crackling sound. Just a theory, but maybe electrical frequencies interfere with the 'natural' static sound. I do know that in certain altered states of consciousness, I tend to go and turn off all electronic devices and lights, or go outdoors.

Your "much disturbance" reply hit me like a load of bricks Monk. Wow ... we're somehow all over something here Chris. And as far as the noise everybody, I've gotten to where I hear it all the time anymore. I don't even have to listen anymore, it's just there. Also, I've been researching more and from what I can get so far it's the (a) sacred buzz and you can go or submerge or (mind) into the om (sound, buzz).

Also referred to as the "song or sound of the kundalini(sp)".

Hmmm ... or maybe I should say Hummmmm.

Hi, I did know what that was but can't remember...lol...we all have it...

I think you can meditate on it, I either saw it in yoga studies or it was something fred had.... one or the other, Chris Bowers might know.....

This discussion reminded me of the scale of sounds that Jonathon Goldman developed relating to each chakra, from red (uh) to violet (eee).

UH, UU, OH, AH, EYE, AYE, EEE, MMMMMMMM

The sounds are made while going up the scale like in the do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti, do

and the MMMMMMMM is the transition 8th sound that starts off with the highest pitch transitioning to the lowest pitch so as to start the sounds again for a mantra type use of the sounds and pitches.

The aspect of this that really interests me is the correlation between this and other similar disciplines and what is alleged in The Law of One material concerning eight densities of conscious experience, the 8th being the transitionary density that transitions to the next set of 8.

The other thing that I find interesting is the relationship of the Earth's base resonant frequency of approx. 8hz (although I think it is a little above that right now for some reason) and the 8hz frequency that the human experience is so tied to in 3D, including entheogens that naturally operate at the 8hz frequency according to some interesting research on that particular subject by the late Terence McKenna and especially Ananda Bosman in this 22 part series by him where he gets into relationships and mechanics of these things.  So many things tied to the number 8, like endless keys on a very large piano....

no doubt about one irrefutable truth - its all about frequencies and the many pathways embedded therein.  Rupert Sheldrake is another to research on related subjects...

Japanese for eight... Great movie, too. ;)

Excited to look into some of that stuff, as I've been wanting to explore and play around with toning and notes more. In the Peter Tompkins book "Mysteries of the Mexican Pyramids", he goes into how the cascading pools at Teotihuacan were representative of a musical scale as well as having the properties to pick up vibrations from all over the planet. Goes into that OTHER scale too...

anyway, gonna check your links out...

I've been hearing a metalic, cricket buzz in my left ear since 1995.  I always thought it was tinnitus; I'm surprised that so many in our small group are experiencing similar noises.

In my case, it's very annoying because it's louder than normal conversation and it never diminishes.  I can't substantiate this claim, but I suspect that it has to do with cellphone towers and the frequencies that are being beamed at us 24/7.  Like Wendy said, some people are sensitive to the frequencies of fluorescent bulbs.  I knew a man in the '80s who could hear the security systems in buildings as we were driving down the highway.

On the other hand, maybe this is an indication that more of us are tuning into the natural order of our universe.

Do You Hear Perpetual High Pitched Frequencies?

by Gregg Prescott, M.S.
Editor, In5D.com

Many people are hearing high pitched frequencies which are not related to a Vitamin D deficiency or tinnitus.  From my research, I’ve found out that these frequencies are associated with your spiritual awakening process, more specifically, in remembering and RE-REMEMBERING of who you are.

History has repeatedly shown us that we have experienced spontaneous DNA upgrades though out our lineage, without any gradual changes in between lineages. These high pitched sounds and frequencies may be associated with a DNA upgrade.

Our bodies are mainly compromised of water.  Recent studies have indicated that sounds and frequencies have an affect on water molecules, as evidenced by Masaru Emoto’s work with sound and the restructuring of water molecules.  Dr. Leonard Horowitz’s work with the holy harmony solfeggios has also indicated there are certain frequencies that affect our genetic structure and ability to heal from within.  On a cellular level, these frequencies and sounds are being converted to their most concentrated form of energy, vibration.

Our entire solar system is currently experiencing a dramatic climate change, including the outer planets in our galaxy.  This has baffled scientists because we are currently in a solar minimum.  As we travel further into the photon belt, the energies will continue to increase.  If these photon energies are associated with any type of minimal radiation, it will affect the genetic structure of our DNA.

Past life regression hypnotherapist Dolores Cannon believes these high pitched noises are associated with your body rising in frequency as the Earth shifts in to a new dimension.

Many consider these high pitched sounds to be part of our genetic reprogramming as the entire universe is being upgraded on a galactic level.  Rest assured that these sounds are beneficial to your genetic and spiritual development.

In the meanwhile, enjoy the ride!

I wish the ringing in my ears would stop so I could hear the high-pitched frequencies better, LOL
