Pulitzer Photo, 1994

I think the
children in
America should see this so they realize how lucky they are.  So often, we take
things for granted..like food, clean drinking water or even a roof over our
heads...May we all awaken together, now or soon.

Have
a close look at both the photographs & read the messages below them.
Forwarding this message to as many people as you can. This wouldn't fulfill
a wish; nor deleting it will cause any misfortune; but its our moral duty to
be concerned...towards humanity.

Kevin Carter,
photographer

This was found in his
diary ,

Dear God, I promise I will never waste my
food no matter how bad it can taste and how full I may be. I pray that He
will protect this little boy, guide and deliver him away from his misery. I
pray that we will be more sensitive towards the world around us and not be
blinded by our own selfish nature and interests.
I hope this
picture will always serve as a reminder to us that how fortunate we are and
that we must never ever take things for granted.

This always makes me wonder how many "concerned citizens" in the richer developed countries would be willing to move from a meat-based diet to a vegetable-based diet to put their expressed concern (for the starving masses at the bottom of the food chain) "where their mouth is".  The inefficiency and unsustainability is mathematically undeniable and inescapable, and yet........  Thank you so much for the reminder!

Oh John, I don't see the link for the pics either.....
