Meetup Groups in General/and specifically in New York
I just moved to New York in January. Was wondering if we have any members in the area? I'm currently living in Manhattan. I've also recently discovered meetup.com, and joined some really cool groups in the New York area that I think members here might be interested in. Meetup is a really cool tool to find other people with similar interests/ideas in your geographic area, and then be able to meet up with them!

Meetup is great! I found a great little book club that focuses on spiritual growth type books through Meetup.com. It was certainly something I'd never have found otherwise. I'm relatively close to Manhattan, but definitely not close enough to head down there for a book club. :) (I'm about 1-1/4 hours north on the Hudson line). I DO know that there's a bit of an issue in NYC in the cost of renting space for gatherings makes it difficult to bring people together. Apartments are too small for gatherings, and commercial space is too costly... I hope Meetup can locate folks who have that problem solved.
