Belief

An old piece written for an assignment at one time, thought i'd share it in an effort to allow you to see a bit of 'what i believe' though that changes as i do. blessings. kristyne

Once upon a time we believed the world was flat. Once upon a time man couldn’t fly. Once upon a time we believed in fairy tales. Belief. I exercise caution when considering the word. In the center of the word is another- Lie. Many of the things we ‘believe’ turn out to be untruths. We begin life as innocents and our beliefs arise as we learn what society wants us to believe and how we’re expected to behave.

If we begin each day with the thought that we are imperfect-fat, skinny, tall, short, good, bad, black, white - beliefs limit us and the choices we make. If a religion tells us it is the only path then we believe the rest of the world is bound for hell and damnation. We begin to believe we are more right than our neighbors that don’t ‘believe’ the same things. If we believe only what parents or peers or our predecessors taught us we limit the knowledge to be gained through living this lifetime.

Once upon a time we believed the world was flat. We know that belief was wrong. We didn’t understand or have the tools to see the world in any other light. Some of us perceive that the world IS light. LIGHT being pure energy. The truest and purest LIGHT born out of an immense nothingness that we cannot adequately understand from our limited human perspective. A nothingness from which everything was created. A nothingness and an ALLNESS that are one and the same. Infinite. Some call this God. In our limited perspective everything is finite -based on linear time and space and perception as ‘Matter’.

What do I believe? What is God? Who am I in this immense universe? What I believe isn’t easy to answer. What I believe grows and changes as each new experience and lesson unfolds.

I believe in TRUTH. Not a limiting humanistic truth but the truth of the ALL ONE. Not a truth imposed upon me by my ego. Not a truth taught to me through someone else or a textbook or a religious doctrine.

I believe in the Truth that is Gnosis. Knowing. A truth that arises out of the darkness of thought and matter existing always and infinitely.

I place my belief in Universal Law. I look toward the coming together of things known and unknown from a place of heart, soul, mind and positive thought into conscious manifestation.

What do I believe? It seems easier to say what I don’t believe.

I don’t believe in arguing, I feel anger is a useless emotion. It separates and isolates us from those we love.

I don’t believe in lying, though sometimes the person we lie to the most is ourselves.

I don’t believe in perpetuating violence or ignorance.

I don’t believe we can make peace in the Middle East or anywhere else. I don’t believe peace is an external thing. I don’t think of it as something we can DO, I don’t consider it a verb. I believe peace is a place within each of us that can be hard for some of us to get to at times. I believe until we CAN get to it, and sustain that, we cant be a part of anything greater. I believe we are all a piece of that PEACE.

I believe everything we truly need is inside us. We already have it. Or the ability to manifest it-if we recognize it.

I believe IF we live in an atmosphere of fear it is time to replace it with the axiom that all is love.

I don’t believe in fear and hatred. I DO believe in LOVE.

Teach love, for love is what you are- a course in miracles says that.

Jesus the ascended master taught that.

The church I grew up in taught that Christ died for our sins- in and of itself, that doesn’t work for me. I don’t believe in sin. The original meaning of the word is ‘to miss the mark’. I believe we come here with lessons to learn and that sometimes we can spend many lifetimes learning the same ones. I believe that ultimately we will all transcend and ascend. I know some of us struggle with ego and take a longer time to make the same crossing.

I believe we can become like Christ, practice the lessons of Buddha, and other great masters and ascend, that we may assist others to a place of higher vibration. That works for me. It rings of Truth as felt in my heart and soul. That Christ lived to teach that - that we can all be Christed beings-that he was a man ascended and that we have the ability to do even greater things - it is written that we will. That I believe possible.

Many churches teach we won’t be saved unless we belong to them - I don’t belong to a singular secular church. I do belong to GOD. Not some man in a white robe sending down wrath and pestilence and condemnation to a world in chaos….I cant see GOD in that light. I choose to see GOD as ALL LIGHT - as ALL GOOD. As IN EVERYTHING and as INFINITE and UNFATHOMABLE from our limited human perspective.

I believe we are EVERYTHING that GOD IS. If only we would realize it, teach it, live it every day. I believe we are Spirit living within the constraints of these limiting physical bodies because we have lessons to learn and lessons to teach. I believe when we leave them we travel to places we can only imagine in our waking state, and that what we think of as awake is the deepest sleep we must shake ourselves free of. The illusion that we are physical matter without the realization that we are powered by spirit keeps us earthbound and can be the basis of creating our own hell on earth if we let it. We choose.

We live each day of our human lives learning to transcend this earthbound place. We are given the opportunity to begin again - to remember what we truly are. Each day gives us the ability to create what we want to create in our lives, in our families and in our world. We can look around and choose a vision of fear and hatred, of racism and violence- the vision we see each time we turn on the television and live from a place of fear, or we can choose another vision, one that brings a higher vibration and work our way to it. We can choose to accept that we can only truly change one thing, our own consciousness, and raise our own vibration and the vibration of those around us to another place. In so doing, I believe we raise the consciousness of the whole. I believe we are all one mind. We are all connected. We choose with each thought, each breath, and each step we take.

Once we believed the world was flat. Once man walking on the moon was a pipe dream. Once war was the pervasive attitude on this planet. There is no longer room for that attitude to remain here.

I believe it has become time to retire those perceptions. There is no room in my vocabulary for teachings or fears that promote a consciousness of war.

I believe the only way we will live in peace is to embody peace.

The only way we can be peace is to teach love and learn to live it.

I believe there is enough. Enough food, medicine, money, energy, hope-enough love on this planet. Enough for all of us here.

When we see each other in the oneness that we are, I believe we will get there. We will all ascend. What I believe changes. It isn’t the most important thing to me. It isn’t important to me that I am ‘right’ or rich or gifted by someone elses standard.

What is important to me is that I KNOW the spark of divinity that I am.

Why do I believe what I believe? Because my life has been filled with lessons. Many of them painful if viewed in that light, but the lessons gleaned from them have each brought me to a higher place. I have not learned them in my own time, I have learned them in God’s time. When I have been able to share my gifts they have been returned to me at least tenfold. When I have withheld them, I have withheld their return to myself.

I have not always been able to see myself as a child of God, as part and parcel to the glories set before us in this material universe, but I have never been forgotten. I have always had enough. Even when what was enough was not what I thought I needed. When prayers have gone unanswered (or I have perceived them as such) it has become apparent in God’s time, they were not what I truly needed.

I have learned and continue to learn to put my life, my needs, my hopes and dreams into the hands of a power greater than myself even though I don’t always understand, and to trust that. To BE. I am yours, you are mine, we are what we are. The creation of the Creator. A thought in the mind of GOD.

Bestowed with the greatest of gifts. Left to our own discovery, wonder awaits us each and every one. The truest thing I believe is this spark of divinity that resides deep within us. I strive to honor it and all life on this planet.

I believe we cannot deny this sacred fire. I believe we have work to do here, together.

"The next time that a piece of your life breaks off and falls away, try to remember that what is Real cannot be lost, and then give thanks that what is false must always prove itself so."

Thank you, Onesong, from the bottom of my heart. I have lived far too long without putting my feelings into words and you have done just that for me in this writing. You are so appreciated.
