Valedictorian Speaks Out Against Schooling in Graduation Speech
I think she truly learned a thing or two. What a moving speech. I was still ruminating and battling these issues on my way to a college degree - after two or three dropouts, I believe that equalled fourteen years of rumination - ha!
A speech like that really gives one hope and makes one believe the new guard is here. Great opening with the Zen master, H.L.Mencken, "I am a human being, a thinker, an adventurer - not a worker," inspired and inspiring stuff!
Our educational system definitely needs a serious overhall, especially when one reflects that history (and most other subjects for that matter) has been written by the victors of war and shaped to serve their ends. The children need to be encouraged and challenged and she did a fine job expressing that fact. May she go on to be a powerful instrument in that change.

that one so young can have such understanding. This is just proof that souls are coming into this world to bring about change. It gives one hope that we are on the right path and will truly overcome the dark side.

I was just wondering over the weekend why it seems that so many on the journey are 40+ years old. It's good to see she has started her journey of awareness at 18! Many blessings on her way. :)
