Events are being held around the world to mark the 41st anniversary of Earth Day, and environmentalists are encouraging people to make sustainable changes to benefit the planet.

One dedicated team in Honduras has achieved this by helping to reintroduce scarlet macaws, birds that were once nearly extinct, to a sacred Mayan site.

Al Jazeera's Monica Villamizar reports from the Mayan ruins of Copan.
