Happy Birthday Jesus

as Stuart Wilde would call him-a fringe dweller living with one foot in each world-this is a recent post from Rob Breszny's newsletter. (http://FreeWillAstrology.com)
i enjoyed his perspective and thought i would send it on. with that said, i also say...
Happy Birthday Jesus ... Merry Christmas to all...  and may our Light shine through even the darkest night.
Peace and blessings.
love, kristyne

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS

Fundamentalist Christians send me hate mail. Religious zealots in ten cities have banned one of my books. Along with meditation, yoga, and sex for fun, the Vatican has declared astrology, one of my occupations, to be dangerous to your spiritual health.

All of these haters would be shocked if they learned that Jesus Christ is one of the Main High Dudes in my pantheon of gods. They seem to believe that people like me -- goddess-worshiping tantric sufi Qabalist Buddhist pagans who hang around with zen trickster witches and espouse a socialist libertarian political philosophy -- couldn't possibly have an intimate relationship with the cosmic hero they claim to own. They must think they have commandeered the trademark of one of the sweetest
avatars in history!

But I do have an intimate relationship with Jesus. How could I not? He was a champion of women's rights, a threat to the established political order, and a radical spiritual activist who worked outside religious institutions.
The dude owned nothing and was a passionate advocate for the poor and underprivileged. He was uncompromisingly opposed to violence and war.
Besides that, he was a master of love and he devoted his life to serving the Divine Intelligence. I want to be like him when I grow up!

"It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle," he said, "than it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven." That's a pretty clear statement of his position towards rightwing accumulators of property and wealth.

"Love your enemies," he said, "do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you." How any militarist promoting global arms sales and pre-emptive war could claim an affinity with Jesus is incomprehensible.

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

What stories are we told by the world and how do we repeat like we do ? A question for all no matter what religion you are or if you are not religous your belief system, curious I am .   Are we just repeaters something to think about .  A question I have always asked myself ? It reminds me of the Sun why is it called the Sun and how do we know how it works, if no man has ever been there, questions I love them especially the ones with no answers.

the only reason behind not changing or expanding one's belief systems is fear and uncertainty.  sure, there are inherent underlying pillars/supports and a framework necessary to keep this thing going, but beyond that...

i think "worship" as it is popularly defined was introduced by cargo cults from near and far and enslavement.  if you look up the etymology of that word, it is a bit different from the skewed version we have chosen to bandy in each other's faces.

stories are meant to impart something, whether it be wisdom/understanding or entertainment.  there are MANY stories from around the globe...  and beyond!  to get stuck on one story is to stop growing.  and they are appropriate for places, peoples and times.  not forever.  and people still interpret them however they wish or are capable.  especially without a competent storyteller to add flavor and nuance.

my enlightenment into this came through the study of the king arthur mythos.  once i had read a certain number of versions, and strangely enough when i chanced upon steinbeck's tragic version, i realized all stories are the same.  if you just remove the names.  they can be universal...

but to argue that one's story is the ONLY story or even the BEST story, is an utter load of crap.  i can guarantee i've read better.  if you can learn something from it, then by all means go for it, but if you don't apply that learning the whole thing may be a waste of time.

i grew up in the church.  my father and grandfather and brother (for awhile) are or were ministers of the christian faith (first christian, disciples of christ) and good at their jobs.  my father is an excellent orator and really touches people.  still doesn't get much action out of them, but oh well.  so, in my adolescence i discovered what hypocrisy is.  no one was paying heed to the best part of the story.  they were all still gossiping and back-stabbing each other.  addicted to drama.

i have always been a religious person.  i had a time where i rebelled against that belief system.  my beliefs were expanded more into the realms of earth, sky and the elements.  in part due to psychedelics...  and i came back around to see that every contrived religion may have something to offer, but it takes discretion to choose what to keep and what to discard.

and if you don't live it or walk the walk, then it's for naught anyway.

some of the inspirations which turned my way of thinking were the tao of physics by fritjof capra and cosmic consciousness by richard bucke.  when i saw that science actually mirrored and complimented religion, my duality over what is or is not ceased.

i don't have conscious recollection of any past lives or such, but i have a strong affinity for egypt and ancient japan.  and of course my current racial heritage.  i jive mostly with the celtic part of it.  the "shemsu hor" of ancient egypt resonate with me.  also the fact that "sba" means star and door in their forgotten language.  a clue there...  the shinto of ancient japan also appeal to me.

anyway, whatever on that.  it's early and i'm rambling.  i think jesus was probably a pretty cool cat.  would have been considered a hippy these days, i'm sure.  stirring shit up that was getting stagnant and keeping people enslaved rather than free...  but he didn't want WORSHIPPERS, he wanted followers.  like in his footsteps.  both he and buddha were here at very specific times and battling a certain midset that was encrusted and crusty.  they had to be extreme to get people's attention and wake them up.  hence the adoration, etc.  it blew their minds.  they both conveyed the fact that we are so much more than just our bodies, but that proper health and care of those bodies was also necessary in that regard.  and that the bodies are a reflection or example of the state of one's being...  but we are only slaves because we allow ourselves to be.  you can escape at any time!

and we know all about the sun.  thanks to they might be giants...  ;)

Thanks Krystine,

I've always wondered how many people think I'm a Christian if I believe in Jesus as a teacher, and follwing his example but not as the one and only son of god. It seems to be that those who focus more on what he taught, rather than worrying about who he was were better people.

Do we follow or create ?? Do we follow by  example or do we lead by example . What is the info handed down? Is it true ? What if Jesus was a myth ?   What if Jesus was real ?  What if he helped ? What if he did not ?   Critical thinkers, often question everything as I am doing now nobody really has the answer to these questions !?.  Speculation yes, but no for sure answer . That was the point of my response to the thread .  Just to get people questioning things thats all .

I love you all , Eric

I feel you on that one, great stories are good to hear especially a positive one .  I not sure what to think , so I will keep  my mind open on this subject personally I  am willing to  listen to any story about these things, Jesus and  religion helps me to decipher what people might have been experiencing in a spirtual way, back then or now .   I am always open like a 24 hour diner ;)

         LOVE all , Eric

Starmonkey's picture

i love 24 hr diners!  always have, but "twin peaks" and david lynch (who's now into TM) sealed the deal for me.  i think for me, the gospel made sense because the "golden rule" or the "reap what you sow" was a precursor to my understanding of karma or the law of attraction.  mind rules matter, creates it even...

what gets OLD in ANY organized religion is the names.  you don't become immortal just from your stupid name in a book or a chant, etc.  especially if the peeps regurgitating those names had no knowledge or relationship to those individuals then they can just make up whatever personalities for them that they want.  the same with "god".  what a tired and worn-out and pretty much meaningless word.  "goddess" has already reached that point thanks to new-agey fools, as well.  there are many of both, and none.  and it all depends on your roots or indentification.  hell, we have a friend now who's trying out being an episcopalian because she thinks because her family was it was where her "people" are from.  a bit annoying to me that people can be SO unsure and choose something contrived, but we all have our own paths to walk.

i'm more like you in the fact that i like dialoguing about any of it, if peeps are open.  when they are not, the conversation and potential of future ones "ends" pretty quickly.  i use quotes because i still don't want to shut any doors permanently...  but there are some narrow viewpoints with blinders on that don't want to hear or see anything that might challenge their "security", and to those i have nothing to say.  damaged individuals looking for some other rock to cling to, instead of finding it within.

ironically, things like this site attract much of that energy because peeps aren't really LISTENING.  they want something to fix their problems (that they created), but then don't use or integrate the tools that are given to help them in that process.  but then there are a few of us who went through the TC and joined the TT because we wanted to share with others.  not choose sides over this or that political bullshit or pat ourselves on the back because we do this or that environmental or "spiritual" practice.  i'm open to all of it, but reusing and recycling won't save the world, it's just something you do because you have respect.  and of course gardening is wonderful because it puts you in intimate contact with the earth and what you nourish yourself on, but it is also not the "be-all, end-all" of our existence here.  we're also meant to explore and adventure...

i'm not going to pump up any egos here, mine or others.  in fact, when i sense that fundamental weakness in a person, it makes me a little sick.  i don't really give a shit WHAT you call yourself or label yourself as, who are YOU really?  i'm more interested in that.  personal experiences and insights or visions are much more appealing to me to want to read than something you found on youtube or your guru's webpage.  i've had enough of that stuff, already.  i'm a big know-it-all.  ;)

having said that, i'll now contradict myself and say that rob brezny's page and link mentioned in the first post had an interesting bit about 7+ billion different personal religions helping to trigger "the shift".  now THAT is something i could get into...

onesong's picture

Seven years later I wonder how you've found so much time to respond to this old post.  How you've responded I find almost comical.  "Jesus??? and Fear" and finally...

"things like this site attract much of that energy because peeps aren't really LISTENING.  they want something to fix their problems (that they created), but then don't use or integrate the tools that are given to help them in that process.  but then there are a few of us who went through the TC and joined the TT because we wanted to share with others.  not choose sides over this or that political bullshit or pat ourselves on the back because we do this or that environmental or "spiritual" practice.  i'm open to all of it"

To be open requires acceptance of another's truths as not necessary to be our own.

and

"when i sense that fundamental weakness in a person, it makes me a little sick.  i don't really give a shit WHAT you call yourself or label yourself as, who are YOU really?"

Who are you really?  A spark of the Divine, a co-creator. You are just like I am.

None of the above touch on the reason for the initial post and none of what is posted foster anything enlightened in reply.  The initial post came out of a morning spent seeing city halls surrounded by protesters and Christmas trees and niches destroyed and fundamentalist preachers announcing they'd be burning the Quran etc. etc. ad nauseum. It seemed to me that morning a few weeks before Christmas that the message Jesus came to bring was lost on many maybe even most of us.  It was my Christmas card that morning.  My sending out into the world the Light I knew was living inside of me. Remembering that Light.

I happen to like Rob Breszny-Pronoia is an interesting read. I also happen to like Jesus-real or imagined (you pick, I won't be offended by your choice), Buddha, Yogananda, Tibetan Book of the Dead, ACIM, Bailey, Steiner, Blavatsky and too many others to waste space typing them all.  Like Breszny says:

"I do have an intimate relationship with Jesus.
I want to be like him when I grow up!"

The message is what is important. He didn't come here to start a religion.  If someone asks me about religion I consider myself a student of Christian Mysticism but that does not make me exclusive to one particular religion or body of thought.  I am not so closed minded as to think God (or whatever you prefer to call Source energy) gave us one book or even one SET of books containing ALL the answers.  What we are given is free will and a rational mind with the ability to think for ourselves and ascertain what are our own truths, many of which we will outgrow and change during our lifetime(s).

I have found it to be true in my own life that if I see something I don't like in another I'm really seeing a mirror image of things that I may not be seeing about myself. If you think you're seeing a 'fundamental weakness' in someone else to me it's a good time to check yourself.

You'll also find I've been a TT member for some time, but you don't find alot of posts I've authored.  I found long ago that more time is spent here criticizing what's been said by many and promoting conspiracy rather than being the transformation we wish to see in the world.

For me, it's easier to read behind the scenes and go out in the world and simply do.

Mitakuye Oyasin-To all my relations.

I think you bring up something really important.  The basic difference in worship between the Christian and Muslim world arises due to the concept that where the traditional Christian sees Jesus as Son of God AND God the Muslim concept is as Jesus as a Prophet of God like Abraham, Moses, etc. and that there is only ONE God.  Urantia speaks of many universes and levels of Universe bestowals.  The Bible omits many books once considered doctrine. The Buddhist doesn't look outside himself for God.  So each piece of the puzzle we find truth in, we rest with awhile, we digest, we mull over and accept or reject it.  Some have experiental events occur that leave absolutely no doubt for THEM. Who am I to deny their experience?

If I were looking for a perfect man, the one that I could most wish to emulate from a historical or even fictional perspective I would have to site the qualities found in the man said to hail from Nazareth whether the world will ever accept whether he was 'real' or not.  I do believe the teachings of Jesus to be some of the most enlightened we had yet seen on this planet upon his arrival. I also consider him Teacher.        I hope all's well with you Sister and that you're breathing easy peasy. Love kristyne

It really did strike me as funny that it's taken 7 years to get a response (and in the age of the internet). Eric, my comments weren't 'aimed' at you or Chris, they just happened to be what struck a chord that led me to respond. You both ask alot of good questions and I respect that.

I've found things come full circle several times sometimes before we understand the change that happens, but change happens whether we know it or not or even accept that it has. Nobody stays the same. How did you feel after 9/11 (no matter who was responsible), the tsunami, Katrina, Haiti? People either shut down in fear or great love opened their hearts very wide. Some are still shut down but others shine even through tremendous difficulty. They have become agents for change. Sometimes what seems the most negative brings about the most positive change. John Mayer's song "waiting for the world to change" comes to mind-what are we waiting for if not the change within us?

Just to give a little TT history, there were lots of folks arriving to the TC / TT team about the time I did and some had a really hard time with some of the opinions voiced here.  Instead of reading what resonated with them and letting the rest go some got nasty, some left altogether.  Some that were voices of wisdom that we could have all shared and learned from bailed rather than remain.

It's great that there's a forum for helping lead people to the understanding that not everything we see is 'real', that governments and corporations are operating from a place that does not serve the highest good, that differences should be appreciated (even applauded) and where we can work on fostering an understanding that we're all in this together.  No you and me against the world. We are the world.

To paraphrase something once said...Give rise to what is within you and it will save you, if you do not give rise to it, what you do not have will destroy you.

May we give rise to all that bares witness to the light.  Peace be,        kristyne

Yes, Kristyne. I, too, am sad a how a number of members here seem more intent on making others wrong at times than showing compassion and trying to reach a mutual respect and understanding. I know it is entirely possible to disagree with others in a warm and loving way. I would invite all here to consider moving in that direction, and thanks for the many who do consistently spread their love and support.

With lots of love and warm wishes,
Fred

G morning Fred and a very happy belated birthday wish to you.

I included the history about TT beginnings because I recall the upheaval it created within the 'community' with many taking this side or that and the lack of 'transformation' some of that involved. We lost some great folks at that time.

I'm greatful for the opportunity to find so much info in one place-the team does a good job of posting things that seem relevant but what happens after that at times serves to lower our vibration as a group entity and that's the part I find disconcerting. (Breathing sacred love into all.) Transformation involves taking a solid look at what you're putting out into the world and whether it's serving others or serving 'ego' or some lesser 'god'.

Love or fear.  Choose Love and Love chooses you. Peace and prosperity in all you do. kristyne
