Yea, it probably isn't the best alternative energy source out there but I thought it was interesting that like so many things, they used the worse alternative, rather than the better one.

that the Rothschild family had basically bought up the globe's uranium mines and so they strongly backed nuclear power.

this goes way back in time and I don't recall the sources but there were studies that showed hyrdoelectric using tidal waters could generate all the power we needed at 1/10 the cost of nuclear. Of course, Kellog & Brown et al simply reversed the numbers.
