Hi All-
I'm noticing a change in the character of the gathering spot and missing the way it used to be. I'm wondering if others agree with me and also if others have ideas about what they would like to see more or less of.
It seems to me that people are posting lots of news articles these days. I suppose this isn't a bad thing but when we had fewer posts there was less chance that a post would get burried under loads of newer posts. These news posts seem to be drowning out the posts that involve more community discussion and a deeper level of dialogue.
Another trend I'm noticing is that people are starting a new discussion topic even when their post is directly related to a topic already posted. I have to say that I find this trend disturbing. It means that if people want to have a dialogue about that particular topic they need to post in both places. It also makes me wonder if people aren't bothering to read existing posts before starting a new topic. What's the point of having a community if we aren't taking the time to read each other's posts?
If you aren't sure if your topic has already been posted, besides taking a glance at the recently posted topics it is possible to use the search bar at the very top of the page. I've found that once in a while it hangs up but for the most part if works great and allows me to see if there's already a discussion topic been created that my news or other information will fit in with.
Sorry if this post has kind of the flavor of a complaint about it. I'm hoping this post will be an oportunity to start a dialogue about what each of us feel our ideal cyber-community could potentially become.
Peace and blessings,
Wendy
I very much agree, Wendy. I would love to see more posts about people's personal lives and journeys, and more posts which inspire us all to greatness. Thanks for the suggestion.
With much love and warm wishes to all,
Fred
I for one will not be posting any personal stories, here. This group is divisive. Support and discourse unfortunately were left behind with the Transformation Team.
I bless all with Love.
Elizabeth
I miss the Transformation Team website, it's structure, the possibility of forming group discussions that could no be run over by a flood of new posts. It is still a wonderful creation by Fred, Andrey and the others that have so consistently and diligently driven toward's the Heartfelt and Heart-centered agenda of Awakening to One-ness, but such is the nature of the physical world in flux...
Some time ago I began to see why people come for a short time and then move on from the G-Spot. It seems to behave like a place of excitement for new blood, so excited about their initial discoveries, and those here for some time begin to see the same stuff being discussed over and over again, as if confined to a certain range that never quite evolves... This, of course, is not the website's fault, or Fred's fault.
The project, by Fred's own admission, was always about allowing people to have a virtual place to individually and collectively evolve without a master guiding the process....
So Be it...
One thing I have noticed - is that there are some 250 people who have been admitted to the forum via having taken the courses - and yet there are only about 10 of us who really actively post anything here. Where is everyone? Surely some of these people have things to share? Opinions they would like to express?
I agree that the news posts seem to be pretty popular - and surely there are a million othre sites better situated for those - and I have to admit that I am guilty of wanting to post these just as information for people to be aware of. I think the reason we let these get in the way is because we immediately judge anything negative as a "fear based post" etc. when we should already be beyond that kind of thinking as having passed the courses. It's just information that we might want to keep track of as events move forward out in the world.
As for the forum folks being devisive - Fairy - I have not really seen that, but maybe it appears that way in comparison to what was here before ( I was not a part of that so no comment really). But obviously - if we all had that attitude of not wanting to share any personal stories - then we would have nothing but "negative" new posts I suppose - so I do hope that you share more of yourself with us (I enjoyed your description of your chain smoking, coffee drinking ex-military mentor - priceless!)
In any case I am finding great value in the sharing of information between like minded people - no matter what it is - I would just like to see more people participating.
Jeff, most of them came for a short while and then moved on after sharing with the group for a spell. Most of them already had much on their plate in their very well self-directed lives, so it was just so good to get a chance to meet them for a short while. It is good to know they are out there doing what they're doing.
I think there are also a few who would be considered part of the silent majority. They love to look in from time to time to see what we are discussing, the kind of people who are great listeners. As for "too divisive", I don't think that at all. In fact I think quite the opposite. By far the most divisive dramatic moments on this site were on the old TT website in the early days and I still consider those moments some of the most cherished learning opportunities in my lifetime...
May you find your way home Riversong!!!!
another one of those crazy glitchy duplicates...
who observes more here. i have only posted a couple of things here in the last year,, but, my comments are mostly personal stories, experiences, etc. inspired by subject matter I see here. I wasn't even sure if those were welcome at first, because they are not "hard evidence" of anything.
A couple of days ago I detailed a short dream I had been having on fred's "Power" post....There were actually 3 or 4 recent posts where that would of been relevant. I had wanted to make a comment about how Fred and FFG's recent posts have really helped me balance all the fear based stuff in the news, so I just picked Fred's latest at that time. It probably could of best been used on the "filtering" post, as everything about this dream explained why observing , then acting when the time is right is much more powerful than just unloading info on people, I just didn't want to point it at anyone. Every moment of it, right down to when the bell rang, was important.. But I guess that is the difference between relating a personal experience, or a news/info story..some might get it, some might not !
I would like to comment on one thing I see,,,,Sensationalized Headlines,,,,,I see them here often,,,i was in radio for a long time, I wrote news for a while, and advertising, and now, years later, I can't stand commercials,or making a headline more dramatic to get people to read it....
I would love to read more personal stories here that relate to the times we are all going through,,,Peace,,,T
I admit that I am a main contributor of "bad" news here. This is one of the few places I know of where people are awake enough not to toss out alternative information as "conspiracy theories." When I learn something, you folks are the first people I think of to share it with.
Recently, I posted about a half dozen such newsbits in a row. There are so many injustices and rights being stripped away these days, that I thought I should let everyone know. Sorry, if that was overkill. I'm really holding back... I've got plenty more to post! lol
I agree with you, Wendy, about too many posts being started on the same topic. In the case of OWS, however, there are just too many to put all in one post. (I love your Ron Paul brushfire burning post. It's a mile long!) lol
As far as participation, I think it's "normal" for a majority of people to "lurk" rather than post. I see it happening in the OWS Livestream chat rooms, too. Sometimes, there are hundreds of people in the room, but only about a dozen people chatting at one time.
One thing I noticed on the home page is that the Community Heartbeat column reaches down much further than the frame for new posts does. Is this something that can be changed, Fred and Andrey? In other words, is it possible to create a larger frame, so posts won't drop off the home page so fast?
