I enjoy coloring my driveway with sidewalk chalk. I sat thinking about it earlier today and thought that I would share with the group.
The Lessons I have learned from Sidewalk Chalk.
Lesson of Atmosphere:
Lines are best laid in calm weather.
Try to draw lines when the wind is high, and soon find that most of the chalk is lost to the breezes.
Lesson of Concrete:
Using fingers to spread and smooth lines calls for an easy touch.
A sweep with too much pressure or misusing chalk that is small risks the agony of a ripped fingernail or the sting of raw fingertips.
Lesson of the 30 second Rain Shower:
A little water will quickly wash all of the chalk away.
I enjoy each moment of ''materializing my vision'' with the knowledge that it is very much impermenant. So my joy is not in creating a lasting ''work'' but is found in the act itself.
There are more lessons.....I am always learning.
one more though.....Spray paint.....
when painting with spray paint, if ever there is a hesitation....even a slight hesitation....the paint will run. If I mean for a line to be painted, it must be done with a steady and unafraid hand. The colors come out quickly.... and are bold. There must be No second guessing when applying them. This calls for seeing the effect before committing to the action.
okay....that's my say.
Thank you all.
In the spirit of Joy.
Misty

Hey Misty,
Did you see this prank that people in NYC did with the giant cube?
http://alltooflat.com/pranks/cube
I love random acts of art, and being unattached to the final outcome is an art in itself. Kind of like the Tibetan sand mandalas. They are gorgeous! And in a moment, poof! gone...
I'd love to see some pictures if you have any.
I often don't rate posts, especially of personal nature... seems rather odd, though not always. It's just sharing of life, not necessarily good or bad.
Lots of love,
Andrey.
Nah...i spray paint on old doors and other large boards that i can find. I love the feel of spray painting......broad, sweeping motions. quick spritz details. the speed of it..... the rythm is exciting.....the colors are so vivid...it's a very dramatic way to paint..
LOVE IT!!.......but......i'm gravitating more to the chalk because it's more benign. No toxic fumes or aerosols.........and it's fun too...
ya' know.....i almost posted this as a response to the ''resurfaced sex thread''
because that's what sparked these thoughts....lol......i was thinking about how humans argue and debate......and exchange energies. how we have sex......and exchange energies....lol.....and i found that i didn't have a base for relativity. so it occured to me that sexual energy is also creative energy and to find my lessons for expressing sexuality..or even for expressing opinions.....i can look to find what lessons i learn from how i express my creativity.......and viola' .... this is what i have so far.....
(Post Script: So, where does this lead??
That is the unfolding discovery.)
slow thinker....lol
Peace, Love and Soul. Baby
Misty.
