Forgive my ignorance here.

As I understand it Obamacare is about giving easeir and more affordable access to your healthcare system.

One thing I have never understood, is why is there a charge for healthcare in  your country. Here in New Zealand we have both free and pay healthcare. You can belong to a healthcare scheme, which means you can access elective surgeries, however there is also a free service for both emergency and acute medical care.

I had some personal experience with this. After Fukushima happened we decided to invest in a geiger counter. We found that some beautiful cobalt blue salt shakers and hot plate I had bought at Pier One Imports (I beleive they were made in either India or China) were radioactive. I should have know better than to buy something that was probably made by sweatshop labor - it could have cost me my life.

I just made a big mistake of a purchase at Trader Joes yesterday and I'm thinking there's probably other stories out there. I hope you all will share your stories of bad purchases so we can learn from each other's mistakes.

When I shop at Trader Joes I generally get myself a little treat because we don't live near the store and I like to have a snack for the long drive home. (I find that allowing myself the one treat actually helps me do a better job of avoiding all the potentially less healthy and less economical foods I'm liable to buy while I'm there)
