Subscriptions and Email Notifications

In response to Berry's question:

It seems that on this new site there is no way of requesting email notification of updated post to any threads. Or if there is how does one initiate it?

At the moment you will receive a notification only if:

Someone requests to become your friend.
Someone sends you a private message.

You are automatically "subscribed" to every topic you create or comment on. From that point on these posts will show up under "My recent posts". If someone replies to a post you created or commented on, it will move to the top of the list with either a "new" or "updated" red tag next to it.

We thought that it is a much cleaner way to subscribe to content, as the email subscriptions got a bit messy and sometimes overloaded people's email boxes.

So if you would like to subscribe to a topic, don't feel shy and just add a comment to it, even if it just says "subscribing..." You will then be updated on new posts on that topic if you click "My recent posts" on your home screen.
